What We Offer
MK5 Expedition Ops: Boat Handling and Guide Skills Training
Rogue Wave is equipped with Milpro MK5 Zodiacs, the same vessels used around the world in the expedition cruise industry. Our course provides comprehensive training in tiller-boat handling and expedition guiding. Over 9 days, you’ll gain foundational skills required to work on an expedition team. Along with hands-on experience operating these vessels, our immersive program teaches skills in teamwork, communication, navigation, interpretation, safety/rescue and more…
Our on-site training is designed to replicate work/life as an expedition guide in the field with daily excursions on the ocean from our waterfront classroom and lodging. This course is ideal for both novice and experienced guides aiming to advance their skills and their careers in the expedition cruise industry.
PTGA Qualifications Training and Assessment
As an accredited Polar Tourism Guides Association training and assessment provider, Rogue Wave offers assessments for multiple PTGA qualifications. Completing our MK5 Expedition Ops course includes PTGA assessments for communication, navigation, and working with small boats. These qualifications are the prerequisites to receive qualifications as an expedition zodiac driver. After completing the MK5 Expedition Ops course, an additional day may be booked in order to receive assessment for the Zodiac Driver qualification.
Rogue Wave can also provide individual or team assessments for expedition guides who are already PTGA members and are looking to increase their credentials.
